Liquid nitrogen washing cold box is main equipment of synthetic ammonia project,also one of the important parts of synthetic ammonia process.This cold box is composed of cold box framework,equipment support,valve support,pipe support,pipeline,platform ladder,equipment(nitrogen washing tower,plate fin heat exchanger,separation tank,etc.),regulating valve and instrument,etc.The total amount of synthetic gas from cold box is mainly divided into two type:300000 t/a and 400000 t/a which is depended on different working pressure of domestic liquid nitrogen cold box(2.0-3.0、5.0-6.0、7.0-8.0 MPa).This paper,combined with the previous profound experience in the design of liquid nitrogen washing cold boxes successfully,makes a specification about overall design of liquid nitrogen cold box to adapt the updating of synthetic ammonia process,save energy and reduce consumption,run safety and stably.Also,such specifications mean to improve the safety,economy and convenience of the liquid nitrogen washing cold box.
