Analysis of Corrosion Products of Vortex Flowmeterin a Filling Dinitrogen Tetroxide System

The digital vortex flowmeter in a filling dinitrogen tetroxide is used over a long period of time in the filling storehouse of aerospace launch site.The certain corrosion products are formed on its surface,which change its precision and accuracy,then affect the filling amount.In order to explore the composition and formation mechanism of corrosion products,FEI field emission electron scanning electron microscope(SEM),energy spectrum analyzer(EDAX)and X-ray photoelectron spectrometer(XPS)were used to measure the surface morphology,composition and existence form of the corrosion products,respectively.The results show that the corroded surface is composed of black and yellow corrosion products with relatively dense internal combination,both of which contain elements such as N,O,Cr,Fe,Ni,but the yellow corrosion products have relatively higher N and O content,and the corrosion is more serious.The corrosion products mainly exist in the form of Fe2O3,Cr2O3,Ni2O3 etc.metal oxides.The corrosion process contains both chemical corrosion and electrochemical corrosion,but the chemical corrosion is main form.
