Study on Market Demand of UHVDC Power Transmission in China

Based on the unbalanced distribution of both energy resources and developed areas in China,the inevitability of electric energy flowing characterized by large scale and long distance in future is expounded.The UHVDC power transmission possesses such advantages as high transmission capacity and long working distance,so its position can not be replaced in the electric energy flowing in the future.The authors point out that the market application prospect of UHVDC power transmission is clear in transmitting electric power outwards from hydropower stations in Southwest China and it is high competitive in the coal power transmission projects over long distance.In addition,the UHVDC power transmission can also play important role in imported electric power projects.
