| Abstract: | Various synthetic methods of glyoxylic acid were reviewed with 35 references, which were summarized into oxidation, reduction and hydrolysis processes. The advantages and disadvantages between the oxidation of gly-oxal with nitric acid and the electrolytic reduction of oxalic acid were compared in detail. The research and produc-tion status of glyoxylic acid in China were also introduced and its development prospect was presented. |
