| Abstract: | The mechanism for low temperature shrinkage cracking of high-grade asphalt pavement and its influencing factors are discussed.The in-site observation and the in-door test on the low temperature cracking characteristics of the bituminous mixture indicate that temperature decreasing rate plays a decisive role in the value and nature of temperature stress.The nature of the asphalt and the mineral aggregates are two important factors which determine the developing state of low temperature shrinkage cracks. |
