Abstract: | Reaction-bonded silicon nitride contains at least two different crystallographic forms of Si3N4 and several different microconstituents and morphologies. Application of a comprehensive study using x-ray and electron diffraction, electron microprobe analysis, optical metallography, and scanning and transmission electron microscopy has allowed a complete microstructural characterization to be achieved. |
