Review on Catalysts for Synthesis of Dimethyl Carbonate via Esterification

The results of recent research works on catalysts for synthesis of dimethyl carbonate by transesterification process were reviewed. The problems concerning the catalysts such as the structure of cyclic carbonates, the reactive center of catalysts, and the mechanism of the transesterification were summarized,the relative research results and their availability were analyzed,and some innovations to enhance the production efficiency and reduce the production cost were proposed.
