Visual depth discrimination in animals.
Authors:Shinkman   Paul G.
Abstract:
"The capacity to react discriminatively to the distance of visual stimulus appears to characterize a great many species, ranging from insects to primates. Especially in the case of insects, birds, and rats, it is evident that displacement of the images on the retinal mosaic is a very important factor in depth discrimination."
