Abstract:The brittleness of alumina ceramics material limits the application of the material remarkably. Increasing its toughening is a pivotal issue in the field of ceramic materia1s study. In this paper, the present status of toughening research on alumina matrix-ceramic materia1 is described and some aspects of the study to be strengthened are advised.
