The Pulsed Rod Drive Mechanism and Its Commisioning

The pulsed rod drive mechanism is a key rotating device of the pulsed reactor and a performmance mechanism at pulsing operation. At the same time it also may operate at steady state and will perform the function of the shim rod drive mechanism at the later time of core life.The mechanism is a composite actuator of both pneumatic and electromechanical device. Pneumatic mechanism is used at the pulsing operation condition and electromechanical actuator will be applied at regulation of pulsing stroke and at steady operation. This paper briefly describes structure property and charater and principle of the mechanical operating, also introduces the procedure and results of commisioning after mounting the mechanism on the reactor.
