Abstract:Based on a study of the low permeability sandstone oil fields, especially the fractured sand and shale reservoir in Qiuling oil field, this article presents a method to establish a geological model of a fractured reservoir based predominantly on core data associated with static and dynamic reservoir data. The first step is to determine the ten parameters showing the statistic features of fractures, including density, length, width, height, azimuth, dip angle, porosity, permeability, depth and formation interval. The next step is to establish the cross-section model of the fracture, identify and correlate fracture developed intervals and determine the thickness of the barrier beds. The third step is to make a qualitatively prediction and evaluation of the areal distribution of fractures. The 4th step is to determine the parameters characterizing the fracture model, including structural intensity, fracture intensity, occurrence of fractures and the shape of the effective fractured matrix blocks.The last step is to establish a quantitative fracture model and solve the problems concerned in production, such as distribution of the fracture permeability field and distribution of fracture occurrence etc.. This method can greatly improve the prediction of the subsurface fractures and their influences by using only the data from few wells before the development of an oil field.
