| Abstract: | The original and revised versions of G.652,G.655 and G.657 SM optical fiber standards that ITU-T has released over the past decade are described and analyzed.The main specifications and evolutionary trends of these standards are compared and analyzed.The recent development of optical fiber manufacturing technology is briefly summarized.Finally two recommendations are proposed. |
