Abstract: | In order to understand the effect of capping ligand on optical and electrical properties of semiconductor quantum dots (QDs), we have added liquid crystal (8CB) to the CdSe/CdS/ZnS QDs monolayer formed via the Langmuir Blodgett technique And studied emission spectra and conducting properties of resulting QDs. The assembly of QDs monolayer modified by liquid crystal (8CB) can be tuned by varying the temperature. The mechanism of the influence of capping ligands on the gap energy, dipole moment and charge distribution within (CdSe)13 cluster was studied via quantum chemical calculations, i.e. we have used density functional theory to systematically investigate the equilibrium configuration of QDs passivated by oleic acid and liquid crystal ligands. |
