Longitudinal and Hall Resistivity in Thin Film Superconductor

Abstract:We associate both the longitudinal and Hall resistivity of a thin film superconductor YBCO near its transition temperature with vortex lattice melting. In a two dimensional Kosterlitz-Thouless transition there are two characteristic properties, the number of free dislocations and the dielectric function for the dislocation pairs. Using these two parameters, we are able to fit both the longitudinal and Hall resistivity as a function of temperature and magnetic field.
