| Abstract: | The notion of “fuzzy separability” is introduced for fuzzy sets of patterns. A supervised learning algorithm is proposed for estimation of membership functions that yield hierarchical partitioning of the feature space for fuzzy separable pattern classes under confusion. Finally we present a methodology for the design of a classifier composed of hierarchical binary decision trees. |
