我国高校译名在译法上长期处于“各自为政”的状态。本文从翻译的基本原则出发,对现今高校校名英译中的常见问题进行分析和研究,提出了相应的解决办法。文章指出,为了规范我国高校译名,国家教育管理部门应组织资深学者对所有高校译名进行一次彻底的治理整顿,使全国各高等院校的英文译名保持相对的准确性、统一性和稳定性。

Comments on the Problems of Translated Names of Colleges and Universities

So far people have translated in their own ways the names of colleges and universities for long. In accordance with the translating criteria of faithfulness and expressiveness, the writer makes some analyses and researches on the problems that commonly occur in their English versions, to which some solutions are suggested, setting forth that the national administration department of education should set up an organization of senior translating experts to check and retranslate the names of all the colleges and universities throughout China for relative accuracy, unity and stability.
