Numerical stability and convergence criteria for equations for dynamic fracture in DCB composite specimens

Abstract:The stability and convergence criteria for numerical solutions of the governing equations for dynamic crack propagation in DCB unidirectional composite specimens are determined. The stability criteria are given explicitly and it is concluded that the convergence requirements will be met automatically by solutions which satisfy the stability criteria.
