Abstract: | With the widespread use of new energy vehicles, the thermal safety of power lithiumion batteries has become increasingly prominent. In this paper, based on Bernardi thermogenesis mechanism and coupled with different physical quantities, the thermal characteristics of single battery is introduced from electrochemical-thermal coupling model, electro-thermal coupling model and thermal abuse model respectively. Due to the increase of battery energy density and the increasing complexity of driving conditions, power lithium ion batteries are prone to heat accumulation and even cause thermal runaway. In this regard, this paper summarizes the common cooling methods of commercial power battery packs. Finally, based on the thermal runaway propagation mechanism and the measured results affecting the safety of the battery module, effective methods for blocking the thermal runaway propagation of the monomer and the basic module is introduced. |
