Four Spaces of China's Urban Unconscious

A critical practice of urbanism in China today must focus not on distanced aesthetic autonomy, but on the four spaces that act as primary symptoms of contemporary urbanization：factory territories that exist in an indeterminate space between the urban and the rural;infrastructural lines and networks that criss-cross the nation;new cultural districts,neighbourhoods and buildings;and the mental and social networks of new urban subjects who come from the countryside,but work in cities.
