| Abstract: | Beginning from how to improve the durability of concrete constructions used in sea ports, the performance of organic coatings, which are used on the surface of high performance concrete and ordinary concrete in preventing chloride ion penetration, is discussed. In this paper, a port in South China is also given as an example and the durability methods to assure a 50-year design life are explained. |
