Abstract: | The results of investigations carried out to study the effect of the dynamic characteristics of power sources on the stability of melting and electrode metal transfer to the weld pool in consumable electrode arc welding are presented. It is shown that when using a new generation of welding inverter power sources the heat and mass characteristics change and this has a decisive effect on the heat content of the weld pool, reduces the level of residual stresses in the heat-affected zone (HAZ) and also increases the susceptibility to reducing the size of structural components in the zone of permanent welded joints. |
