| Abstract: | The most eye-catching part of Huizhou folk houses in the Ming and Qing dynasties is the brick carving above the gate. Gatehouse, as the symbol of the entrance of the building, adopts exquisite carving and decoration techniques to form different shapes, breaking the monotonous feeling on the flat white powder wall, and achieving the artistic beauty effect of ancient architecture. This paper introduces in detail the types of gatehouse modeling, the technological characteristics of different times and the brick carving process. |
