Abstract:The nodes in wireless sensor network use slotted CSMA/CA protocol to obtain channel and broadcast data. In order to measure the timeliness of information broadcasting, the concept of broadcast age of information(bAoI) is proposed. BAoI is equal to the current time minus the generation time of the packet that just broadcasts successfully. BAoI quantifies the freshness of each node’s packet, and describes the ability of nodes to broadcast packets quickly over the network. By deducing the transmission probability and collision probability of nodes, the equivalent transmission model of the network is established. On this basis, the average bAoI of the network is studied and calculated. The variation of average bAoI with node density and arrival rate is verified by simulation.
