Abstract:Based on the UMC's 0.18 μm RF CMOS technology,a new RF RSSI for mobile TV tuner was designed and implemented.A new circuit for detecting the received signal power was proposed,which is of simple design,low power consumption and good performance in wideband frequency comparing to the traditional rectifier with the unbalance source-coupled pairs.The gains of the preamplifier with constant-Gm bias and the output amplifier(three op-amps instrument amplifier) both depend on a ratio of resistances,which are insensitive to process,thermal and power supply.Measurement results show that when the input signal frequency is between 470 MHz and 860 MHz,the RF RSSI can detect the input signal power from -25 dBm to-15 dBm with ±1.5 dB nonlinearity error,and the power dissipation is less than 7 mW from the 1.8 V power supply.Its performance can fully meet the demands of the whole system.
