Abstract:In this paper. a 5-day germination test was used to identify irra-diated wheat. Germination rate decreased when radiation dose was up to 3.3 kGy.Nearly no seeds shot at 10 kGy. At 0.5 or 1.0 kGy irradiation did not decrease ger-mination rate. It significantly inhibited the growth of shoots and roots. Shoot le-ngth was about 20 mm which could not be elongated by prolonged germination test.The effects of old seeds, post-irradiation storage and wheat varieties on germinationwere discussed.
