Abstract:A meshless modeling method for reservoir configuration units was proposed to solve the problem that conventional mesh-based geological modeling methods are difficult to accurately characterize the geometric forms and cutting or overlapping relationship of small-scale configuration units.This method was based on all kinds of sparse space discrete data obtained from a single well and the plane configuration,and all levels of configuration units were reconstructed in the form of 3D envelope surface under the constraint of 3D configuration prototype model,so as to make the model more consistent with the real form of a geological body.The equivalent characterization method was used to output the mesh conductivity of the configuration interface based on the constructed envelope surface of configuration units,which realized the fine characterization of the configuration units in the 3D reservoir numerical simulation model.The application results of Bohai PL braided river facies oilfield show that the new model built based on this method can effectively improve the historical fitting accuracy of a single well and the prediction accuracy of residual oil distribution between wells,with the coincidence rate of historical fitting being 12 percent higher than that of the old model and the overall prediction accuracy of residual oil reaching more than 85%.The method presented in this paper has a good application prospect for fine reservoir characterization in the middle and late period of oilfield development.
