A quantitative metallographic analysis, made with a Quantimet-720 microscope, of nonmetallic inclusions in sintered and worked Fe-Al alloys has shown that with rise in aluminum content from 2 to 10% the volume content of inclusions and their total number grow.

Most of the nonmetallic inclusions in the sintered Fe-Al alloys investigated were identified as  -A12I3.
