| Abstract: | A new stress theory, square principal shear strength theory was briefly presented in this paper. The significance of this theory was demonstrated for its innovation in development of strength theory. Additional correspondence was made between this theory and experimental data. Calculation examples were cited to make a comparison between third strength theory, fourth strength theory and twin shear stress theory. Problems that needed further study were also raised. |
