| Abstract: | The cost of producing folding boxboard cartons is dependent on a number of factors, among the most important of which are: machine costs, material costs and overheads. In estimating costs, decisions must be made that are often based on experience rather than on a precise knowledge of the facts. The use of an expert system can provide a more effective tool and procedure than that used currently. Part one outlined the effect of the variables. This part of the report describes the OPTICALC expert system devised by the authors. |
