But with the development of intelligent substation and the improvement of national environmental protection requirements, the lead-acid batteries in substation were facing embarrassing situation that would be replaced, while the emergence of new lead-acid batteries would provide a new way of thinking for lead-acid batteries used in substation. Firstly, the article introduced the course of development of the use of lead-acid batteries in substations. Then it analyzed the development status of the new lead-acid batteries in recent years. Finally, according to the development trend of the substation batteries, it pointed out the direction for the use of new lead-acid batteries in substations.
