| Abstract: | The NT- 1 type high-efficiency catalyst for ethylene polymerization developed by RIPP has successfully undergone commercial application tests in the 70kt/a unit for slurry polymerization of ethylene at Yangzi Petrochemical Company after having manufactured 1500 tons of the 7000F and 5000S PE resin grades. The test team consisting of staffs from Yangzi Petrochemical Company, RIPP and Yanhua High and New Technology Company, Ltd. has confirmed that commercial application of the NT-1 catalyst had resulted in smooth operation of the unit and stable process control during PE grade switchover. Compared to similar domestic catalysts, the NT- 1 catalyst can reduce the production cost in big chunks with its comprehensive performance surpassing that of other domestically made catalysts thanks to its high activity, ideal distribution of polymer particle, good sensitivity to hydrogen adjustment, and excellent copolymerization performance.The film blowing tests on the manufactured PE resin have revealed that the resin quality meets the requirements for the premium grade. |
