Abstract:In order to achieve accurate measurement of the total field under the DC transmission line, the finite element method is used to analyze the impact of the diameter and gap distance of the parallel plates on the uniform area of the electric field in the space electric field calibration device. The changes of the uniform area are simulated under the different size of the parallel plates. The calculation formula of the best position of the calibration device with the different diameter and gap distance is proposed. And then the distortion of the electric field around the probe is calculated after the probe is introduced into the uniform domain. The results show that the uniform domain increases as the ratio of the gap distance d to the radius R of the high-voltage electrode plate decreases. When d/R<0.6, the centerline of the entire gap can meet the calibration requirements. When d/R>0.6, the height of the best calibration point increases with the increase of d/R. The electric field distortion coefficient caused by the probe basically remains unchanged with the change of the gap, but increases with the increase of the probe size. The research results can provide a reference for the design of the calibration device of the space electric field measuring instrument.
