Abstract:Alumina films prepared by tape casting were sintered freely and under geometrical constraint at 1350 °C. The effect of film thickness on sintering kinetics and microstructure development was investigated. A decrease in film thickness in the constrained case leads to enhanced retardation of densification and increased orientation of anisometric pores.
