Finding the thermodynamically optimal separation sequence for multicomponent mixtures and the optimum distribution of the heat- and mass-transfer surface areas

Abstract:The problem of the separation sequence minimizing the energy consumption at a given process capacity for multicomponent mixtures and the problem of the optimal contact area distribution among the separation stages are considered. For thermal separation systems, whose capacity is limited, the dependence of the maximum possible capacity on the separation sequence is analyzed.
