| Abstract: | Phase diagrams for the isotropic-anisotropic phase transition in solutions of a thermotropic cellulose derivative, hydroxypropyl cellulose are presented. The effect of the molecular weight is demonstrated. A comparison to the theory of semi-rigid liquid crystalline polymers is given. |
