| Abstract: | The process of rapid omnidirectional compaction (ROC) of SiC_p/cast Al composities was investigated.An apparatus for ROC process was established . Full compactibility of various SiC_p/cast Al composites wasaccomplished. The effects in the materials Were eliminated. It is found that after ROC, the tensile strength of the30% SiC_p/Z1109 composite increased by 35%. It is demonstrated that the ROC process is an effective methodfor improving the perfermance of SiC_p/Al completes. |
