Estimating the effectiveness of design embodiment of permanent magnets for low-speed synchronous generators based on calculation of a magnetic field

Variants of excitation systems of low-speed synchronous machines with tangential and radial magnetization of permanent magnets are considered. Based on magnetic-field simulation using the finite-element method, different excitation systems are compared and the rotary-speed range is determined that should be preferred for one or another form of permanent magnets.
