To make the construction and management of large scale pumping stations come up to the advanced world standard in the South to North Water Transfer East Route Project, a discussion is made on the definition, connotation, guidelines, general requirement, and criterion for construction and management of modernized large scale pumping stations, with emphasis placed on the requirements of the large scale pumping stations in the east route project for safe operation,efficiency of installation, general layout, equipment and facilities, management system, construction and examination, and operational environment.
