Abstract:A photovoltaic(PV) charging system with maximum power point tracking(MPPT) based on dsPIC30F5011 is designed,according to the output characteristics of PV array and charging characteristics of battery.The improved incremental conductance(INC) algorithm is used in fast-charge stage to track maximum power point(MPP) for charg-ing the battery with maximum power.PI regulator algorithm with temperature compensation is applied to realize con-stant voltage charge in the over-charge and float-charge stage.Experimental and simulation results indicate that the improved method can improve the efficiency of MPPT,and the float-charge with temperature compensation can ex-tend the lifetime of battery.
