在语言学中，把语音、词汇、语法看作是构成语言的三大要素。词是语音和语义的统一体，词汇（lexicon）是一种语言的词的总和，是构成语言的建筑材料。在日语教学中，词汇是不可忽视的重要内容，而词汇教学应该培养学生的理解性技能和表达性技能。教材中的词汇分类更应科学、准确和规范。

On Vocabulary Teaching of Japanese Language and the Function of Glossary

In accordance with the theory of linguistics, pronunciation, vocabulary and grammar are regarded as three constituent elements of language. The word is the u nity of pronunciation and rneaning. Lexicon, being the aggregation of words in a lan guage, constitutes Lhe building material of the language. In the sphere of foreign language teaching,vocabulary plays an important role,the training of students'ability of understanding and cornrnunication should be focused upon in the course of vocabulary teaching activlties. The vocabulary classification in the textbook should be done more scientifically,accurately and properly.
