Abstract:In distributed multi-user opportunistic spectrum access (OSA) environment, user-synchronization problem is the vital reason for network throughput deteriorating. To resolve this problem, a changeable-domain based sensing policy was proposed. By adopting randomized sensing policy which can weaken user-synchronization, while changing the number of channels which are available for randomized access (i.e. the width of the random domain), the proposed policy can achieve a tradeoff between optimal myopic sensing and user-synchronization avoidance. Simulations show that the policy can achieve higher network throughput compared to the randomized sensing policy over the whole channels.
Keywords:opportunistic spectrum access  distributed  user-synchronization  changeable random domain
