From general drawing viewpoint, the present situation of land area in our country was elaborated, the lack of arable land and the way to optimize land occupancy rate to save land were discussed. Measures such as pipeline optimization, greenbelts reasonable arrangement and so on were proposed. The general drawing design should save land as far as possible to utilize land reasonably to bring the maximized economic efficiency. In order to guarantee the implementation based on the general drawing design, at first, countersign system should be established in general drawing discipline, secondly, project land management should well be carried out.
