Discussion on the strength of diamond powder

Raman spectroscopy is a scientific,effective,and rapid method to detect the strength grade of diamond powder by measuring the crystal structure,internal defects and impurity content of diamond powder particles.Based on the strength grade of diamond powder determined by Raman spectroscopy,this paper has studied the relationship between the strength of diamond powder and the strength of diamond single crystal raw materials,the synthesis time of diamond raw materials,the production process of powder and the surface treatment process of powder.The result shows that although the strength of diamond powder is closely related to the strength grade of the raw material,it does not increase in a linear proportion.The synthesis time of diamond raw materials has a greater impact on the grade of diamond powder.The crushing process of diamond powder will cause internal damage to the powder particles and increase their internal stress.The crushing and sorting of the same particle size of powder in different hoppers will have relatively large different results.Strong acid and strong alkali treatment will obviously reduce the strength of diamond powder.The strength grade of the powder,made by using the residual material after screening out the crushed material,will be greatly reduced.The above result is helpful to guide the controlling of the strength of diamond powder.
