Control Theory and Macroeconomic Model:A Survey

From the point of view of control theory and systems engineering, this paper surveysbriefly the history and recent development of the macroeconomic mathematicalmodel, analyses and discusses the important features which distinguish between macroeconomicmodel and physical or engineering system model, and the application of themodel to the forecasting, policy evaluation and structural analysis of an economic system.The paper also surveys the application of control theory to the modelling and controlof a macroeconomic system, and discusses the tendency of model development in thenear future.
