| Abstract: | In this paper, the signal waveform received before and
after gas entering the wellbore by transducer placed below the flow return line in the annulus is
analyzed. The relationship between the signal waveform suddenness and its wavelet transform is
discussed. Based on the analysis of received signal wavelet transform, a novel method of gas
influx detection is proposed. The validity of the method has been verified by computer simulation. |
