Abstract: | The field of computational methods for X-ray crystallographic structure solution is currently in a state of rapid flux, arising both from internal development of the methods employed, and from external pressures of new applications of the technology. These pressures have formed a basis for a number of new, large scale collaborative projects involving a range of disciplines and geographical groupings. The paper will examine some of the motivations for change, and then some of the new projects which are arising from them will be discussed in more detail. |
