Since the20s of the twentieth century,American l an dscape architects and other related specialists studied the roles that the lands cape architects played in the design of highways.They have practiced many projec ts about this field.They thought that the function of a landscape architect is n ot only"beautify"highways but also doing important roles such as site plans,use safety,amenity,environmental protections and ecology of highways.European landsc ape architects also have made many studies and practices about highways.
