Abstract:While a motor is modified from fuelling gasoline to near neat methanol, it often encounters the promblems of poor economy and hesitating acceleration. One way to solve these prombles is to modify the related construction of original carburettor. Thus the metering system of the carburettor is modified and the engine is tested on engine stand with simulating road loads. A great deal of engine tests on stand and roads show that the modified carburettor gives improving performance. As compare with the original gasoline engine, the maximum torque increases by about 6 %, acceleration and economy are improved as well.
