| Abstract: | Nanocrystalline Diamond Coatings for Cutting Operations The history of the CVD diamond synthesis goes back into the fifties. However, the scientific and economical potenzial was only gradually recognized. In the eighties intensive world‐wide research on CVD diamond synthesis and applications were launched. Industrial products, especially diamond‐coated cutting tools, were introduced to the market in the middle of the nineties. The article shows the latest developments in this area, which comprises nanocrystalline diamond coating structures. |
