Abstract: | Presents a worldwide perspective on psychology, including its origins and important developments in both Western and communist countries. International associations, journals, and congresses are described. At the present time, psychology depends on Anglo-Saxon culture, especially on the US, and shares the main values of that culture. In spite of its goal of finding general laws and universal principles, contemporary psychology is still far from being an international psychology.
